($18) This 4X-MOO2 Like-Spaceship Dictator game is the newest in a rather crowded playing field of space games. Stars in Shadow pays homage to the former behemoth with similar map styles and citizen management, whilst providing its own modern take on the genre. With the release of it's first DLC Legacies, S.i.S. Provides us with a feat of ingenuity by incorporating a story arc into a 4X strategy title. Stars In Shadow is one such game although has a markedly different budget than that of its early access counterparts such as Endless Space 2. Stars in Shadow is an indie 4X Strategy game that features turn-based combat and a striking 2d visual design which couples itself well with packing humour into both its art and writing. Stars in Shadow is a really solid strategy title, and that it comes from a new indie team makes the title's accomplishments all the more impressive. However, this is a game built by a small team and there are some technical hurdles, a lack of multiplayer and a simple presentation that hold the game back slightly.
