Laundry

We all love mother nature and don't mind a bit of dirt on our clothes, but lets be honest, it's really nice to put on fresh clean clothes once in a while. Throw those pants, that can probably walk themselves by now, into one of our two washing machines and let those miles melt off. We can provide laundry detergent and plenty of fresh air to let them dry in the crisp mountain air.

We were really looking forward to our stay here and our first night was perfect. My husband and I were tent camping with our 6 month old son and got a spot right on the river with plenty of room and a quiet couple staying in the campsite next to us.

The bathrooms were fantastic as previously reviewed and the while the owner was offsite many times when we tried to check-in, he was very pleasant when we finally met him. OUR SECOND NIGHT WAS FAR FROM PERFECT.

We were the only ones in the tent camping area and my husband and I were enjoying our campfire out near the river while our baby was asleep in the tent. Around 9:30pm, a Jeep pulled up with a father and three boys and they began unloading. About 10 minutes later, a 15 passenger van pulls up with a Boyscout troop and that's when the chaos began! THERE WERE ABOUT 20 BOYS AND 3 ADULTS THAT SWARMED US. THEY SET UP 11 TENTS IN THE 3 CAMPSITES SURROUNDING US AND WERE ALL OVER OUR SITE, STANDING NEAR OUR FIRE AND PUTTING THEIR THINGS ALL OVER OUR PICNIC TABLE. IT WAS MADNESS AND COMPLETELY OVERCROWDED. My husband went over to speak to the adults about the invasion and noise (he very nicely asked them to respect our space and keep the noise level to a minimum as it was 10PM and we had a baby sleeping in the tent) and they simply brushed him off with a 'boys will be boys' attitude.

I attempted to call the owner with the phone number he provided (it went straight to voicemail) and even knocked on his door to see if something could be done and there was no response. For single tent campsites, the owner should not have allowed such a large group with 11 tents in 3 campsites, with multiple tents almost inches from ours. We should have been disclosed this information that a large group was coming when we arrived so we could have found a different campground.

They were up yelling and laughing well past midnight and were at it again at 6AM the next morning - my husband and I both had ear plugs and it still kept us up - so much for the peaceful, restful camping experience we desired. We stayed the weekend of 10/18/19. We were in Bryson City for the weekend to ride the train and view the leaves. This is a neat little campground and the owner is supper nice. We stayed in site 14, a back in site withe full hookups. The site was easy to access and level.

It includes a gravel pad with fire ring and picnic table. We did receive heavy rain on Saturday night so there was standing rain in the site as expected.

This did not take away from our experience! We have 32 ft. Travel trailer so we didn't need to use the site bathhouse or laundry. However, we did inspect and were very satisfied! The bath house includes individual rooms that include a toilet, sink and shower-all ceramic tiled and clean. The laundry is on an honor system, as there were two units of washer/dryer with no coin slots. Everything was very CLEAN!!!

The campground is river side with a beautiful view of small cascading rapids. A fall corn maze and pumpkin patch is located across the street! The railroad track to BC is located to the rear of the campground.

This campground is approximately 1 mile from downtown Bryson City however by map, it shows Old River Road is a shorter distance. I wouldn't use Old River as it is gravel and very narrow with minimal places to pass. Would definitely stay there again but would upgrade to the river front sites which were already booked at the time of reservation! And if you are looking for cabins, this campground has two available. Don't expect the average KOA cabin with 2 x 4 frames.

These cabins are gorgeous with log furniture, queen beds and bunks, (sleep 6) and include coffee, microwave, sink, TV, LR furniture. The last person who left a review of this place is lying. We were staying here while they were and we are still here.

We are all glad they are gone. The nice family they spoke of is staying right in front of us and we have had no problems at all with our stay here. No one else asked for their money back except them and when they left they broke the water hook up leaving the campground without water for an hour or so.

This is our second time visiting this fine campground and we will return again and again. We arrived at this campground to find out that it was little more than a parking lot with one side backing up to the river. That was ok though. However, the constantly barking dogs left unattended in other campers, as well as the campground being right off a busy thoroughfare to one side and a small road directly behind our campsite, made for a long sleepless night!

If you have kids, Do Not stay there. There is nowhere for the kids to run and play. All kids need space to be kids. We were one sure over from 4 little kids who were also with the couple on the other side of us. 6:30am they were running around to get to their grandparents. These were well behaved kids, they just needed more space.

The next day, we requested our money back for the next two nights and we're told no. We were the 4th camper that morning to make the request. All were told no. The campfire rings were not cleaned up for new campers, nor were the picnic tables. The washers need a good cleaning and the dress were so full of lint, I am shocked there has not been a fire.
