Kingdom Wars 2: Definitive Edition is a real-time strategy that is embedded in the dark fantasy world. Title introducing several interesting solutions to the classic formula, such as craftsmanship system, survival elements or solutions typical for the genre of card games. Production is a refreshed version of Kingdom Wars 2: Battles (mainly improved graphics and interface) and the latest part of the strategic cycle started in 2011. Plot

Kingdom Wars 2: Definitive Edition takes place in a dark fantasy world, plunged into war between three races: humans, elves and orcs. A terrible conflict, which has been going on for many years, suddenly enters a completely new phase, when the fourth faction - the undead - joins it. Legions of 'living corpses' are a threat to all sides of the war, and it is extremely difficult to stop them - each killed person strengthens the ranks of the enemy. The only rescue seems to be the combination of forces by hated enemies.

Mechanics

Kingdom Wars 2: Definitive Edition is a real-time strategy game. In each battle we can control one of three different armies, which have their own specificity and characteristic units - including powerful heroes and wizards, whose special abilities and magic can determine the outcome of the battle.

An important part of the game are spectacular sieges, during which we try to defend our fortress, or conquer the city or castle of the enemy. Attackers can use a variety of combat machines such as trebuses, catapults and even cannons, but defenders also have a few tricks in the proverbial sleeve (e.g. boilers with boiling oil).

Economics also plays a very important role in missions - we have to acquire various types of resources, which we then use to develop technology trees and create new buildings and objects (including weapons and magic books). This is due to an extensive system of craftsmanship. It is also possible to make special cards that offer reinforcements, with only a few of them on our deck - their selection is very important from a tactical and strategic point of view.

It is also worth noting that the game has been enriched with extensive network functions, thanks to which players can create guilds and alliances in multiplayer mode - this guarantees access to special prizes and bonuses.

Game modes

In Kingdom Wars 2: Definitive Edition we can play alone or with others. In addition to the fictional campaign, we are given the opportunity to fight single battles - with both a computer and a human rival. The creators have also prepared a special Survival Mode, in which we try to defend ourselves against an army of undeads - in this case a friend can help us in our struggles.

Technical aspects

Kingdom Wars 2: Definitive Edition has a decent three-dimensional graphic design, which is maintained in a fairly typical fantasy style. Models of individual units and characters are characterized by a reasonable level of detail, and the locations are not lacking in climate, but in terms of technology, the production of Reverie World Studios deviates slightly from the top rates.
