Player character and investigative reporter willing to do anything to save Amalea, a kidnapped woman tangled up in the worst of the Deep Web.

• Action Survivor: A mere reporter who goes toe-to-toe with a cult, two serial killers, a hitman, and the NYPD all at the same time.
• The Cracker: This time around, it's the player who hacks people, either as contracts for DOSCoin, or to get their Wi-Fi password. That doesn't stop rival hackers from targeting him though.
• Deadpan Snarker: He can be one if the player chooses, in the ending.
• Determinator: Clint will save Amalea, even if it means defending himself from home invaders and hackers and becoming a highly wanted man, and even dying in her place.
• Dueling Hackers: There's still plenty of jackasses trying to invade your computer like last time, but this time, you're also one of those jackasses.
• Featureless Protagonist: Like most survival horror player characters. Though he talks through text in the ending.
• The Generic Guy: His file on the Lobby Computer more or less says he is. Fitting, for a Featureless Protagonist.
• Hero with Bad Publicity: Not popular with the cops, to say the least.
• Intrepid Reporter: Very few investigative reporters are willing to fend off other hackers, dangerous criminals, and law enforcement just to save one random woman.
• The Quiet One: Even his official Lobby Computer file says he's one. Fitting, for a Heroic Mime.
• Weak, but Skilled: Might be a badass Action Survivor, The Cracker, and Intrepid Reporter, but he's still cartoonishly physically inept.

An enigmatic cult platformed on the Shadow Web and the ones behind Amalea's kidnapping.

• Alliterative Name: The female's name is apparently Ayana Armstrong.
• Asshole Victim: You can potentially mark Ayana's door for the Dollmaker to kidnap her. Downplayed in that what he does is arguably even worse than what she did to Amalea.
• Ax-Crazy: The female is, at least.
• Big Bad: They're the ones who kidnapped Amalea, whom Clint is tying to recuse. They are composed of the Noir couple, The Breather, The Nympho/Lydia, and Adam.
• Big-Bad Ensemble: Though they are the primary threat, there are also several other people who want Clint dead.
• Dark Action Girl: The Noir girl is just as deadly, if not more so, as her boyfriend.
• Dark Is Evil: Aside from their white masks, their attire is pitch black.
• Drop the Hammer: Beats the everloving shit out of Clint with a hammer, the female does.
• Even Evil Has Loved Ones: The female in the couple is seen embracing her husband in the title screen, who will occasionally tilt his head to meet hers for a few seconds.
• Evil Laugh: The female sometimes laughs her ass off whilst beating you to death.
• Expy: Of The Strangers.
• Gameplay and Story Segregation: You can mark Ayana's door during the Dollmaker's mission. He will go and kidnap her. She still continues to menace you with her lover.
• The Goomba: They'll likely be the first threat the player deals with, and are generally the easiest to deal with.
• Malevolent Masked Men: And women. Creepy white plastic masks.
• Mascot Villain: They're on the game's title screen.
• Nothing Is Scarier: They're actually pretty ineffectual as threats. They're just there to stalk and spook you, mostly.
• Offscreen Teleportation: The male uses it to spook you, the female uses it to kill you.
• The Quiet One: They're both as quiet as church mice. The female does say 'Boo!' once though.
• Silent Antagonist: The male never makes a peep.
• Slashed Throat: How the female kills Clint in the ending.
• Unholy Matrimony: The Noir Couple, two lovers who work for a cult as murderous home invaders.

A Polish assassin looking to fulfill a hit against Clint.

• Badass in a Nice Suit: What do you expect, from an Agent 47Expy?
• Bald of Evil: His scalp has no hair on it, and he's an asshole hitman.
• Big-Bad Ensemble: He is one of the enemies that can kill you, as he has a contract against Clint.
• Bilingual Bonus: As the Kidnapper's successor, he too speaks in nothing but his native tongue. Doesn't get to show this off much though, as a Terse Talker / The Quiet One.
• Expy: He's the Kidnapper of the sequel, basically. Scary and mysterious home invader, probably the most persistent and prominent threat of many, and speaks solely in a European language despite hunting in American territory.
  • He's also very similar to Agent 47.
• Faux Affably Evil: In one game over animation, he says he'll pray for you. He turns out to be a Jerkass otherwise though.
• For the Evulz: If you leave your computer on when he's in your apartment and he can't find you, he'll not only steal tons of dos coin, but also erase all of your notes just to be a dick.
• Hollywood Silencer: What his handgun is outfitted with.
• Human Notepad: Not obvious since he's dressed in a suit, but he's littered from head to toe with European prison tattoos.
• Idiot Ball: Despite being a trained assassin, Kumiega grabs this when searching your apartment. If you leave your lights on, he will stay in your apartment to try and find you. However, he doesn't think to check in either of your hiding places (in the closet or behind the bathtub curtain). You would think someone would check in those obvious hiding places. There is also the fact that, even if he steals your DOS coin and erases your notes, he still bothers to relock your door, apparently not realizing that what he did to your computer is already signs of an intrusion. The document describing him reveals that this isn't the first time he has been tricked by his targets hiding.
• Jerkass: He calls you a fool in one of his game over animations before blowing your brains out, and also steals tons of your money and erases your notes if you leave your computer on and alone. What a fucking asshole.
• One Steve Limit: Hacking into the apartment registry reveals that one of the residents is named Lucas Holmes. It's ambiguous whether or not the two are the same.
• Tattooed Crook: A Human Notepad hitman.
• Terse Talker: Unlike the Kidnapper, he has only two lines, and they're extremely choppy.

A local serial killer who lurks around Clint's apartment complex. Since he's a returning character and we don't want to be redundant, most of his tropes are already listed here. This is for tropes he examplifies exclusively in WTTG2.

• Big-Bad Ensemble: He is one of the enemies that can kill you, hanging out in the Alley while you try to get anything you purchased from the Black Market.
• The Cameo: He can be seen in the end, in the room of the Noir Cult. Turns out he's part of the Noir Cult.
• Defeat Means Friendship: He tried to kill Lydia in the first game. She's seen with him, Adam, and the Noir couple in the end. Apparently she joined Noir after the first game, and there don't seem to be any hard feelings between the two.
• He's Back: That's what he gets for being an Ensemble Dark Horse.
• Suddenly Voiced: Inverted. He was very talkative in WTTG, now he's mute outside of his trademark Evil Laugh. Maybe the voice actor was unavailable.

A perverted and depraved doctor on the Deep Web who turns women into sex dolls. He's all too real, and all too happy for assistance on getting more specimens. Considered the sickest motherfucker on the entire Deep Web.

• And I Must Scream: Turns women into dolls via surgery, splicing their tendons with plastic until they're a completely immobile yet still fully conscious and alive sex doll.
• Ax-Crazy: Very violent in his handling of Clint if he fails.
• Big-Bad Ensemble: If you visit his website, he becomes one of the enemies that can kill you, forcing you to help him find another victim and threatening you with death should you fail.
• Charles Atlas Superpower: How does an elderly frail man Neck Lift a grown man in his prime with one hand?
• Deadly Doctor: A surgeon who turns women into sex dolls and is easily capable of murdering you if you don't do what he says.
• Dirty Old Man: Aside from selling the women he turns into sex dolls, his website mentions that he keeps a number of them for himself. Really disgusting, considering he's got to at least be in his 60s, and he doesn't seem to take women who are 30 or older.
• Evil Old Folks: Hard to get more evil than a man who kidnaps women, turns them into immobile sex dolls, and if the one he puts in front of your door is any indication, beats them very, very violently.
• Eviler Than Thou: Even amongst all of the other evil people on the Deep Web, he stands as the most twisted individual. He has no connections with Noir or the Red Rooms, yet he is much worse than them.
• Expy: In terms of game mechanics, he's comparable Golden Freddy in the first Five Nights at Freddy's, being a well-hidden Optional Boss that needs to be 'summoned' by looking at a certain image (the randomly-appearing poster of Golden Freddy, the Doll Maker's web page).
• Faux Affably Evil: He's so passive aggressive to Clint that he's a borderline Mood-Swinger.
• Herr Doktor: He has a thin German accent.
• Just Ignore It: He's tough to get around if you happen to summon him. Keyword is if, as you can get past that altogether if you don't visit his website for too long or even at all, since there's no code for you to find on his site and you never have to go there to win.
• Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: Apparently a certified surgeon. Granted, he is skilled enough to back it up, but what he does with that skill..
• Neck Lift: Does this to Clint in his kill animation.
• Never My Fault: Turns out, he only takes women younger than 30. He doesn't tell you this, he just says for you to find him a woman. If you mark the door of an apartment of a woman 30 or older, he will kill you for 'disappointing' him.
• Plot-Irrelevant Villain: He has no connections with Noir, and is the least likely to menace you. If you don't visit his website, you can go through the whole game without seeing him.
• Real After All: Turns out that website in the first game wasn't just run by some troll trying to scare people.
• Serial Killer: He actually technically doesn't kill anyone except Clint if he fails, but he might as well. He's more like a Serial A Fate Worse Than Death-harbinger.
• The Sociopath: The man makes Father Donald look like a saint.

The New York Police Department taking extreme measures against cyber-crime.

• Big-Bad Ensemble: They are one of the enemies that can kill the player, although in their case they are simply trying to apprehend him violently.
• Blinded by the Light: The second half of their jumpscare is flashbanging the player.
• Hero Antagonist: They're just policemen cracking down on cyber-crime. Very violently.
• Disproportionate Retribution: Kicking a man's door down, flashbanging him, and shoving the barrel of an assault rifle in his face is not justified force for visiting the Deep Web. While the Deep Web does have a lot of really evil people on it, thus explaining extreme prejudice, you don't actually do anything illegal there. They should be using that kind of force on people like Red Room hosts, Noir, and the Dollmaker, not some random person who has not even actually done anything concerning.
• Epic Fail: There is an apartment complex filled with criminals from the Deep Web, and these police can't arrest any of them. The only person they can arrest is someone who, unknown to them, is actually a good guy like them trying to save a woman's life.
• Gameplay and Story Segregation: It is possible for them to arrest you even if you never visit the Deep Web at all. You can choose not to enter the Deep Web after the tutorial ends, and after a certain amount of time passes, they will still come anyway.
• Good Is Dumb: Zigzaged. They can easily find Clint by tracing his IP address, which is somewhat impressive, but the fact that they are going after him when they have so many people way worse than him to deal with, coupled with the fact that the Deep Web is filled to the brim with scum that they haven't been able to catch (with Clint being able to find Noirs headquarters while they can't), shows clear incompetence on their part.
• Good Is Not Nice: Not even close. They break down your door, flashbang you, and shove an assault rifle in your face while calling you a motherfucker.
• Insane Troll Logic: 'Some random person is browsing the Deep Web? The Deep Web is full of extremely evil people, so he must automatically be doing something extremely illegal. Send a SWAT team to detain him at once even though he hasn't actually done anything yet!'
• Knight Templar: It seems that they will arrest ANYONE browsing the Deep Web. To be fair, the Deep Web is filled with scum, including Red Room hosts, serial killers, organ traffickers, sex traffickers, pedophiles, cannibals, arms dealers, and The Doll Maker. It should be noted however that they will arrest you even if you haven't actually done anything.
• Police are Useless: Worse than useless. Not only do they not stop Noir or any of the other really bad people on the Deep Web, they actually stop you from saving Amalea. Not even Truth in Television, because the Real Life NYPD is anything but useless.
• Skewed Priorities: Why is it that Noir can't get busted but you can?
• SWAT Team: What they send for you.
• Terrible Trio: To Clint, anyway. There are exactly three policemen that come to arrest you.

A reporter who dug too deep in the Shadow Web and is now a victim of Noir. Tokyo ghoul re birth tier list.

• Intrepid Reporter: Like Clint, it's made her one of the highest priority targets for Noir.

A mysterious but reliable Deep Web user who helps Clint's investigation out.

• Author Avatar: Like in the first game. He is revealed in the ending to have been a villainous example all along.
• Big Bad: He's the leader of Noir, which also includes The Breather, and probably the one who hired Lucas. Essentially every villain (save The Dollmaker) is connected to him in some way.
• Effeminate Misogynistic Guy: Is rather scrawny, soft-spoken and nonthreatening. He also runs a site that kidnaps and kills women, but it's revealed they also hunt men and it's mostly For the Evulz.
• The Dog Was the Mastermind: The Author Avatar tutorial character is the Big Bad.
• Finger-Tenting: What he does in his online profile image, although most players wouldn't think much of it.
• Justified Tutorial: He's an anonymous tip for Clint's investigation.
• Mr. Exposition: Gives you all you need to know about the Noir cult. Which really isn't too hard for him, since he runs the cult himself.
• The Social Darwinist: He sees survival of the fittest as the highest art form, which explains why he's broadcasting Clint's horrific adventures for the world to see.
• Soft-Spoken Sadist: Despite his calm voice, he’s running a Deadly Game.
• Walking Spoiler: Though seemingly a simple tutorial character, he is actually the Big Bad behind the Noir cult.
